Details

What should I wear?

Think relaxed, comfortable, and celebration-ready. Sundresses, linen, and light layers will all fit right in, and Indian attire like a saree, lehenga, or kurta/dhoti is absolutely welcome too. Saturday's ceremony will be a bit dressier, but nothing too formal. Whidbey in early June can be chilly in the evenings, so bring a jacket or sweater for after sunset.

Where will I stay?

We've rented houses on Whidbey for everyone staying with us, so no need to book separate lodging. We'll send out house and room assignments closer to the date.

How do I get there?

Most guests will be driving to Whidbey Island. You can reach the island either by driving over Deception Pass from the north or by taking the Mukilteo–Clinton ferry from the south. If you're flying in, Paine Field is the closest airport, while Sea-Tac will likely have more flight options.

What is mehndi?

Mehndi is a pre-wedding celebration centered around applying henna designs, usually on the hands and arms. Ours will be a relaxed and casual part of the weekend, and guests are welcome to join in.

What is haldi?

Haldi is another pre-wedding celebration where turmeric paste is applied to the couple as a blessing. It's joyful, a little messy, and one of the more playful parts of the weekend.

Can I come for only part of the weekend?

Yes. We'd love to have you for any part of the celebration, whether that's the full weekend or just one or two events.
